Changelog

Changes to the Broker as a Service API, MCP server, partner dashboard and this documentation site that integrators and partners can notice, grouped by month, newest first. Questions about a change: Contact Us.

2026-10

  • Changed: the partner dashboard's Swaps page has a new Waiting status filter (status=waiting, also in the CSV and JSON export) for deposit channels where no deposit has been seen yet. In Progress now shows only swaps whose deposit has been seen, from Receiving through Sent. The Active swaps card still counts both.
  • Added: live price protection. /swap, the vault swap payloads and the MCP tools start_swap and start_dca_swap take an optional livePriceSlippageTolerancePercent: how far, in percent (0 to 100, at most 2 decimals), the execution price may fall below Chainflip's oracle price before a chunk is retried and, after the retry window, refunded. Bitcoin payloads take at most 2.54. A pair without an oracle price (FLIP, for example) answers 400 with code live_price_protection_unavailable. Leaving the parameter out keeps Chainflip's default protection. See Live Price Protection.
  • Added: quotes (/quotes, /quotes-native, the deprecated /quote and /quote-native, MCP get_quotes and get_native_quotes) carry recommendedRetryDurationInBlocks (300 with BTC on either side, 50 otherwise) and recommendedLivePriceSlippageTolerancePercent (absent when Chainflip has no recommendation for the pair). Boost quotes also carry their own recommendedSlippageTolerancePercent and maxBoostFeeBps. Existing fields are unchanged.
  • Added: the swap status responses (/status-by-id, /status-by-deposit-channel, /status-by-transaction-hash, /swaps, /feed, MCP check_status) carry the remaining fields of Chainflip's swap status: estimatedDurationsSeconds, swap.livePriceExecutionDeltaPercentage, fillOrKillParams.maximumOraclePriceSlippage, the retry and abort details of a chunk (latestSwapRescheduledAt…, abortedAt…), and on egresses the fallback destinationAddress and an aborted EVM broadcast's transactionPayload. Older swaps show them too; existing fields are unchanged.
  • Added: /status-by-transaction-hash accepts the 0x extrinsic hash of a Polkadot Assethub deposit, as wallets show it and in any letter case, next to Chainflip's <block>-<extrinsicIndex> reference. The hash is found shortly after the deposit is witnessed; until then the lookup answers swap_unknown.
  • Added: every operation in the OpenAPI document has a stable operationId (getQuotes, startSwap, getStatusById, listSwaps, …) and a description, and the API reference's links follow them (#tag/Quote/operation/getQuotes). The document also declares the apiKey query parameter as its security scheme; the parameter itself is unchanged.
  • Added: /onboarding, a JSON summary for agents of what works without a key, how to get one, the testing environment, a first call and the pricing, each with a URL to check it. It is in the OpenAPI document as getOnboarding.
  • Added: an MCP Server Card at /mcp/server-card and an AI Catalog at /.well-known/ai-catalog.json, so agent clients and directories can discover the MCP server before connecting.
  • Added: a "When to use this" section and an Onboarding section in both llms.txt files (chainflip-broker.io and docs.chainflip-broker.io).
  • Added: Markdown versions of the landing page and of every page of this site: send Accept: text/markdown to the page URL, or fetch index.md beside a docs page.
  • Changed: this site now allows crawlers and has a sitemap.xml and an llms.txt.
  • Added: the Contact Us page covers email, Discord, X, private security reports and what to include in a support request, and a new Privacy page describes what the service stores and why.

2026-09

  • Added: the API, the MCP server, the landing page, registration and sign-in, the partner dashboard and this documentation site are reachable over Tor v3 onion services, on production and on the testing environment. See Tor (.onion).
  • Added: failed requests to the quote, swap and vault swap payload endpoints carry a stable, machine-readable code next to detail, so clients can branch on it instead of matching text. See Error Codes.
  • Changed: the HTTP status of those failures follows the code: amount, fee and liquidity rejections answer 400, and temporary conditions such as maintenance, a disabled asset or Chainflip's channel cap answer 503, where several answered 500 before.

2026-07

  • Added: an Overview page in the partner dashboard, self-serve payout settings, and dashboard layouts for phones and tablets.

2026-03
