# Getting Started

## Create an account

[Register](https://chainflip-broker.io/register) to get set up with an API key and a direct line of contact. The flow is a single step: [create your API key](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/register/register-account/) for Chainflip as a Broker.

Prefer to test before you touch mainnet? [Register on the testing environment](https://perseverance.chainflip-broker.io/register) instead. It behaves the same and swaps testnet assets with no real value.

## Implement the API

The core loop is three calls: [ask for a quote](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/features/ask-quote/), [start a swap](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/features/start-swap/), and [follow the status](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/features/get-status/) until it completes. The [API Documentation](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/resources/api-documentation/) covers every endpoint, and the feature pages carry runnable examples you can copy; each page notes how to run them against the testing environment.

We have a [Testing](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/environments/testing/) and a [Production](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/environments/production/) environment. Integrate against testing first, then repeat the registration on production and switch the base URL.

If you would rather not wire HTTP calls by hand, the [MCP server](https://docs.chainflip-broker.io/resources/ai-documentation/) lets AI agents and coding assistants drive quotes and swaps through natural language.
